Lauren Zinn

Lauren Zinn was a founding member of the Hideout’s original house improv troupe, We Could Be Heroes (later: The Heroes of Comedy), in 1998. Living in New York City for seven years, she performed improv and sketch comedy (The Modern Kids, “Saturday Night Rewritten”) at the People’s Improv Theater, Juvie Hall, Rose’s Turn, Chashama and the Sage Theater in Times Square. She has also worked in film, webisode comedy (“Three Percent Enemies”) and voice over, including several anime characters Google loves to surface. Since returning to Austin, she has performed in improvised plays such as “Dusk: Improvised Tween Erotica,” “The Andersons” and “Hitchcocked!”. Lauren studied screenwriting at UT and is a full-time wordslinger for Aol. She teaches improv (through Merlin Works) and yoga, and is grateful for these twin passions that have led her deeper into the joy of living in the present moment, taking risk and listening.
